I feel the best about technology and connectedness when I take a few minutes to myself and read Facebook and Twitter and follow people and articles that I am interested in.

I turn off my reactivity to the Facebook posters who post negativity and drama, or their latest mysterious food-poisoning symptoms.

But this level of connectedness is isolating: my face is stuck staring at a glistening screen, silently celebrating with people’s successes and reading articles and stories on the blogs I follow. Where is the balance with connectedness, isolation and social media?
